As part of a group-wide Operations Technology modernization program, outdated production systems worldwide have been replaced and migrated to a future-proof, secure infrastructure. The measures included the replacement of all terminal systems along with associated sensors, the introduction of modern industrial hardware, and the re-establishment of control and communication logic.

In parallel, a comprehensive network zoning according to ISA/IEC 62443 was implemented to clearly separate IT and OT networks and secure safety-critical systems. The implementation was carried out in close coordination with international teams, service providers, and local production managers. The project laid the foundation for standardized, secure OT structures at all global locations.

Initial Situation | Objectives

Duties | Responsibilities

  • Replacement of complete BDE and sensor systems in production
  • Introduction of new industrial PCs, interfaces, and control logic
  • Implementation of Network Segmentation according to ISA/IEC 62443
  • Separation of IT and OT networks, establishment of secure communication paths
  • Definition and Implementation of Firewall Rules for Industrial Networks
  • Technical lead for international rollouts and coordination of external integrators
  • Development of globally standardized OT security architectures for follow-on projects
